林克读三年级时的一天晚上，妈妈帮林克听写英语单词，其中有rice(米)和goose(鹅)。林克把rice写成rise，把goose写成guce、guse。让林克改正后，又反复教她很多遍还是没记住。为此，林克妈妈和爸爸甚至争吵起来。冷静下来，灵感突现，一句诙谐而简洁的口诀掠过林克妈妈的脑海：rice(米)的price(价格)又rise(上涨)。对了，就是它！
